Byron Dental CentreA holistic approach to dental health and well being
Holistic Dental Program
Conscious Dentistry and Whole Health Dental Program
It is generally accepted within the dental profession that dental conditions like tooth decay and gum disease are directly related to the state of the local environment of the mouth.
Tooth decay requires the presence of 3 factors:
- bacterial plaque
- a fermentable food source for the bacteria
- a susceptible host
Prevention of dental disease is predominantly focused on:
- improving oral hygiene (removing bacterial plaque)
- reducing or eliminating consumption of sugars (remove food source for bacteria)
Additional factors to dental conditions
It is my philosophy that there are additional factors, systemic or external to the mouth that may contribute to dental disease. They are stress related and may be either:
- Nutritional or Biochemical
- Structural or Biomechanical
- Mental & Emotional or Psychological
I refer to this as Dental Stress
Our Holistic Dental Program
Each tooth corresponds to a specific organ, gland, system, body part and acupuncture meridian. There is a relationship between each dental problem and the different parts of the body.
The health of the mouth is a reflection of your overall health and wellbeing.
The Whole Health Dental Program is a 3 fold plan designed to identify and heal dental stress and address your health holistically:
- Nutritionally - individual dietary and supplement requirements for detoxification and a healthier mouth and body
- Structurally - jaw joint, muscle, and postural balance of the body in relation to the teeth
- Psychologically - defuse and clear fear and anxiety regarding dentistry, and negative emotions, restrictive mental patterning (thoughts, beliefs and attitudes) that impact on the body
Whole Health Dental Modalities
